Indiana Tech has named Lisa D. Givan as associate vice president for diversity and inclusion and chief diversity officer. Ms. Givan was chosen by the university after a nationwide search to fill the new post, which was established in the spring of 2018 as part of Indiana Tech\u2019s strategic planning process.<\/p>\n
Givan will officially begin her duties as associate vice president on July 18, 2018. She currently serves as associate director of diversity training at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, a position she has held since 2015. Prior to her work as associate director at Kent State, Givan also served the university from 2008-2015 in roles including core trainer and special assistant for the Diversity Education and Training Lab; coordinator of multicultural initiatives and enrollment management & student services advisor; and coordinator of pre-college programs. Givan began her career in higher education as senior enrollment services specialist at the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio, in 2007.<\/p>\n

Givan earned her B.A. in Sociology\/Corrections and her M.A. in Education from the University of Akron. She is a licensed qualified administrator of Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) and holds a certificate in conflict management.
