Indiana Tech and IndyGo are working together to make a college education possible for IndyGo employees and their spouses. Qualifying employees and their spouses will receive scholarship for undergraduate or graduate courses at Indiana Tech, helping them save 20% on the cost of a certificate or degree. When coupled with IndyGo’s tuition assistance program, this enables the organization’s employees to earn a career-enriching certificate or degree in a highly affordable way.

This partnership is just one example of the Indianapolis-based public transportation agency’s commitment to its employees and the communities it serves. IndyGo recently hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony for its new, state-of-the-art East Campus Headquarters, located on the city’s Far Eastside. The 110,000-square-foot facility offers expanded storage for the agency’s growing bus fleet, state-of-the-art training for bus drivers and more room for employees to safely work in this post-pandemic era.

“Our partnership with Indiana Tech perfectly illustrates IndyGo’s commitment to ensuring our employees have the best opportunities to grow, achieve and advance their careers within our agency’s workforce development programs,” said IndyGo Chief People Officer Denise Jenkins-Agurs. “This access to advanced training not only benefits the employee, but allows them to elevate their families and enhance the communities we serve.”

Indiana Tech offers busy working adults at IndyGo and elsewhere online certificate and degree programs in high demand fields like project management, marketing, cybersecurity, information technology and more. Classes begin every six weeks, so students can take one class at a time and make rapid progress toward program completion. In addition, students have access to personal education advisors and resources that provide support from start to finish.

Thanks to Indiana’s Workforce Ready Grant, students at Indiana Tech have the opportunity to earn an undergraduate certificate with no out-of-pocket costs. The program is open to state residents who do not currently hold a bachelor’s degree, and qualifying participants can choose from 14 skill-enhancing certificates. Seven IndyGo employees are currently pursuing a certificate from Indiana Tech through this program.

“We are proud to partner with organizations like IndyGo to ensure their investment in learning results in a positive return for both the organization and its employees,” said Robin Seaton, admissions representative at Indiana Tech. “In addition to career-focused degree and certificate programs, we work with employers to offer customized certificates, as well as earned credit for some professional certifications and other training. We provide access to high-quality education, and we partner with employers like IndyGo to find ways to do so without the burden of a high price tag.”

Indiana Tech is pleased to partner with IndyGo to help their employees build valuable skills and pursue their higher education goals. The university works with employers of all sizes to help them attract and retain a skilled workforce.
