The Warrior men’s and women\u2019s track and field teams both repeated as NAIA National Champions, winning the 2014 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships on Saturday in Gulf Shores, Ala.<\/p>\n
The men tallied 105 points to stave off Wayland Baptist (Texas) by 12 points. On the women\u2019s side, the Warriors needed a win in the 4×400 meter relay to defeat Oklahoma Baptist, 102-101.<\/p>\n
In addition to winning the 4×400 meter relay, the women also won the 4×100 meter relay. Zalika Dixon won an individual title in the 400 meter hurdles.<\/p>\n
The men\u2019s team had four individual national champions, highlighted by a photo finish victory in the 100 meter dash by\u00a0Dontaey Paige, winning the event by .004 seconds. Deshawn Marshall\u00a0won the 400 meter dash;\u00a0Robert Rose\u00a0took the 400 meter hurdles title, his first career individual title; and the 4×800 meter relay team also recorded a photo finish win.<\/p>\n
Head coach\u00a0Doug Edgar\u00a0was named men\u2019s and women\u2019s Coach of the Year for the second straight season.<\/p>\n
