This project is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA), administered by the Indiana State Library.<\/p>\n<p>The McMillen Library project includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The circulation of iPads and iPad minis to increase students\u2019 access to technology and electronic resources.<\/li>\n<li>The implementation of monthly instructional classes to emphasize technology, information literacy, critical thinking, lifelong learning, and the successful transition from the classroom to the workforce.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cThrough the instructional classes, students will become prepared for a successful transition from college to the modern workforce,\u201d said McMillen Library Director Connie Scott. \u201cOur goal is to promote the skills needed for academic, professional and personal engagement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Institute of Museum and Library Services is the primary source of federal support for the nation\u2019s 123,000 libraries and 17,500 museums. Its mission is to grow and sustain a \u201cNation of Learners\u201d because life-long learning is essential to a democratic society and individual success. Through its grant making, convenings, research and publications, the Institute empowers museums and libraries nationwide to provide leadership and services to enhance learning in families and communities, sustain cultural heritage, build twenty-first-century skills, and increase civic participation.
