Indiana Tech President, Dr. Arthur E. Snyder, will retire from his position at the university on June 30, 2017, the conclusion of the 2016-17 academic year.<\/p>\n
Dr. Snyder began his service as president on July 1, 2003. He is the eighth president in the history of Indiana Tech, which was founded as Indiana Technical College in 1930 in downtown Fort Wayne, Indiana.<\/p>\n
Over the past 13 years, Dr. Snyder has led Indiana Tech to tremendous growth in student enrollments, academic programs and campus development, all while placing the university on outstanding financial footing. Just a few of the many noteworthy accomplishments of his tenure include:<\/p>\n
Dr. Snyder commented, \u201cIt\u2019s been a privilege to work with an outstanding and dedicated team of faculty and staff here at Indiana Tech over the past 13 years, and I look forward to our work together in the coming academic year. Since we first arrived here in 2003, my wife, Camille, and I have had the pleasure of getting to know so many of our wonderful students of all ages and backgrounds, and have been fortunate to see them grow in every area of their lives. It\u2019s these Warrior students, our alumni, and the energy and spirit of the entire Indiana Tech community, that we will miss most of all.\u201d<\/p>\n
Janet Chrzan, Chair of Indiana Tech\u2019s Board of Trustees, noted, \u201cDr. Snyder is truly a leader in every sense of the word \u2013 one who will be succeeded but not replaced. His commitment to students across Indiana Tech becomes quickly apparent to all who meet him. He\u2019s led our university to new levels of achievement in every area, with student support and success the driving force behind every initiative. All of us on the Board are grateful for his service, and we look forward to continuing our work with him over the year ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n
A search committee for Dr. Snyder\u2019s successor as president, comprised of members of the Indiana Tech Board of Trustees, faculty and staff, has been formed.<\/p>\n
Though retiring from his day-to-day role as president, Dr. Snyder will continue to serve Indiana Tech as President Emeritus.
