The initiative provides state residents with free training in high-paying, in-demand industries like manufacturing, construction, health sciences, business, information technology \u00a0and more. Qualifying students can have the entire cost of an undergraduate certificate from Indiana Tech covered by the grant.<\/p>\n<p>Indiana Tech offers undergraduate certificates in high-demand fields that allow students to improve their knowledge and skills, giving them a competitive edge and enabling them to advance in their careers. Each undergraduate certificate is comprised of six to seven courses, and students can choose from the following programs:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Basic Accounting<\/li>\n<li>Management<\/li>\n<li>Construction Management<\/li>\n<li>Marketing<\/li>\n<li>Health Care Administration<\/li>\n<li>Organizational Leadership<\/li>\n<li>Human Resources Management<\/li>\n<li>Production Management<\/li>\n<li>InsurTech<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cThis is exciting news for the university and students alike, as Indiana Tech is the only four-year university that\u2019s part of the Workforce Ready \u00a0program,\u201d said Steve Herendeen, vice president for enrollment management at Indiana Tech. \u201cAll of our degree and certificate programs are industry-focused and designed with employers\u2019 needs in mind. The undergraduate certificates offer students skills and training they need in order to prepare for the jobs of the future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Indiana Tech was awarded $1 million in Workforce Ready Grant funding for the 2020-21 academic year, with expanded opportunities through the end of this calendar year thanks to additional funding provided by the CARES Act. To be eligible, applicants must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be an Indiana resident and a U.S. citizen (or\u00a0eligible non-citizen)<\/li>\n<li>Have a high school diploma (or equivalent) but less than a college degree (NOTE: Through Dec. 30, 2020, Hoosiers with an associate or bachelor\u2019s degree are also eligible to participate.)<\/li>\n<li>Enroll in any\u00a0qualifying training program\u00a0at an eligible training provider<\/li>\n<li>Complete the FAFSA<\/li>\n<li>Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress<\/li>\n<li>Enroll at least half-time<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Indiana Tech offers career-focused degree programs and certificates in a format designed to fit busy schedules. Accelerated six-week courses are offered online, on-site at 19 regional locations, or a combination of both.
